Dropbox Message from Anya (Ben's Grand-Daughter)

Hello
My name is Anya Holowitz, and my grandfather, Ben Holowitz, was a Staff Sergeant in the 643d Tank Destroyer Battalion. I believe that my father, Howard Holowitz, has been in contact with you regarding some of the WWII materials that we found among my grandfather's things. We have just finished scanning in all of his printed photographs, and some of his paperwork, and would like to share them with your archives. We also have several envelopes full of negatives that we plan to have professionally transferred to CD. When this is completed, we will forward those pictures to you as well. Since the folders are so large, we are sharing them with you via dropbox. Please let me know if you have any questions, or difficulty accessing the files. Thank you so much for been the keepers of these records.

Anya

Ben's Silver Star Medal Document

(The 2 missing Soldiers mentioned in the document were Tec5 Alexander Gadomski and Cpl. Charles Gebauer, later found dead)

There was a mix-up in the spelling of Ben's last name on the first medal (Halowitz should be Holowitz) I don't know why the second was never engraved.  (Info Linda Sievers-Holowitz)
