Frederick J. Jones received a Battlefield Commission, 3 May 1945

 

"April 12th, 1945"

Frederick was platoon Sergeant at the time 1st Platoon from Recon. Company got ambushed near Barby, Germany.

His Lieutenant was killed and he took over the unit. Frederick later received a Battlefield Commission for his actions that day.

 

The officer who pin's up Frederick his Lt. bar's is Lt.Col. Burlle R. Farr Commander of the 643rd TD BN at that time.
