Message I receved from Melinda (Findagrave)

Yes. He was my Grandpa's Uncle. My Grandpa, Andy, and 3 of his brothers were all in WW2. I don't have Lefty's (that was Mathew's nickname) official papers yet. All I know is from newspaper clippings that their mother saved. Lefty was stationed at Camp Gruber, Oklahoma. Then it was almost Saving Private Zupon as all 3 were in Europe at the same time. A newspaper clipping says that Lefty and brother, Edward, met in Germany in January (?? what year). Edward was in engineering and building a bridge and Lefty was in the Tank Division crossing the bridge. Lefty entered service March 17, 1942 and was overseas for 9 months
